Winter Fashion Overhaul on a Budget

With the weather getting cooler and cooler here in Adelaide, we’ve all of course been thinking about some new additions to our winter wardrobes…. So that got us thinking – could we upgrade our winter wardrobe for under $500? Challenge not only accepted, but complete!! Thank you to the current competitive retail market, there are always great cost-effective options and regular sales. Here are our finds for the 2017 winter wardrobe staples update. And yes, there are 3 pairs of shoes.
The trench, The Iconic $76.96 - Thanks to the current sale on at The Iconic (save 30% by typing the code FRENZY30 until tomorrow!!), this classic style trench jacket is a staple piece for the ages. In a light fabric, it allows for trans-seasonal dressing and suits both casual and dressy occasions.
The biker jacket, The Iconic $83.96 – again, on sale at The Iconic, this piece is vegan friendly and in the classic, black, biker style. Perfect with jeans, a pretty dress, all black… there are so many options here. An amazing price for a great style.
The cuddly winter knit, Witchery $112.46 – The most expensive of the bunch (don’t worry, it’s still on sale thanks to 25% off knits at Witchery (for a limited time of course)), this is a great investment to keep you warm and comfy once that winter chill really sets in.
The stripe shirt, Kmart $17 – an awesome piece for work or casual, we love this (could this be the best bargain of the lot?!). Not only is this shirt a great classic style, it’s made a of lovely soft fabric that doesn’t crease on the drive to work and still keeps it shape to keep you looking sharp.
The white T, Target $12 – From the Dannii Minogue range, although this in the petites range, often a size or two up can still fit a “non-petit”. There are plenty of options for the good ol’ white t-shirt out there but we love this one with the on-trend drop hem at the back. Plus it’s on sale #winning
The shirt dress, Target $49 – A great classic style for many types of body shapes. A shirt dress can be worn with or without the waist tie and on it’s own, over jeans or leggings or even open as a light, layering coat. We’re also big fans of the sage/khaki colour that goes really well with plenty of colours.
The black, flat boots, The Iconic $69.95 – These guys aren’t on sale at the moment but what a great price for a classic style! With elasticised panels, these should fit a variety of calf shapes and provide warmth and comfort. Perfect!
The nude, kinda trendy, flat boots, Cotton On $34.96 – A bit of a “shoe-boot” (“shoot”?), we love these for the trendy element while still offering a neutral, classic shape. Great for those in-between days or when you’re going in and out throughout the day (indoor heating sweat, anyone? Ugh!). These trend style pieces are great to buy from the lower cost retailers. It gives you the chance to try something updated but if they go out of style in a season or two, you won’t feel the buyer’s remorse you may if you’d paid $200.
The “winter heel”, The Iconic $41.96 – The final piece, also on sale until tomorrow. These are a great style that can suit a sleek work dress, jeans or a pretty dress (with that brilliant biker jacket!). They keep you nice and snug while adding that little extra “fancy” to your outfit.
Mission complete, Hurrah! Get in quick before the sales end or these guys sell out… or just wait for the next sale!!
